This post was originally a Twitter thread.

I wrote an article about teaching 3D Design and #3Dprinting in the classroom for an @amermathsoc proceedings. I am happy to be able to share it with you; please share widely. https://arxiv.org/abs/2212.07926 (1/4)

The article has two halves - 1⃣ is a case study discussing content organization, implementation, project grading, and includes a personal reflection. There is an emphasis on lessons learned and how to encourage student creativity and artistic expression. (2/4)

2⃣ is a detailed appendix containing 3D design techniques in @WolframResearch #Mathematica. It shares a lot of the knowledge needed to get students and instructors up and started with the software. The techniques are the same ones I use to design @hanusadesign #mathjewelry. (3/4)

I hope interested parties can use these ideas in their own courses. My focus this year has been on developing and sharing out college-level mathematical curricula; we don’t do nearly enough of that as a community! (4/4)
